Well, I’ve been away from the blog for awhile, but in a way that’s a good thing, since it means I’ve been really busy, right?! Or maybe just a bit blog-lazy. Either way, it’s time for an update on what’s been happening. So let’s start things off with a surprise engagement shoot!
Now I suppose most, if not all, engagements are technically supposed to be a surprise…so referring to this one in particular as a “surprise” may seem a bit much. But in this case, the “surprise” was the fact that I was actually there to capture the moment, and also have a quick impromptu photo session right after.
When I first spoke with Arun about his plans, my main concern was how easily I could go unnoticed, while still getting some great shots…fortunately, we found a great location in Selected Works. Selected Works is great Chicago bookstore located in the Fine Arts Building on South Michigan Avenue. The store is divided into separate rooms and spaces, each packed with books from floor to ceiling, with plenty of places for a photographer to hide; or at least act like he’s browsing while still keeping a watchful eye on his subjects. :)
All in all, I think the session turned out pretty spectacular, and this fun couple got some great photos to document the first day of their engagement!
